Hello, 18 Hands Gallery!
I don’t know what the connection is between pottery and fiber arts, but it comes up a lot, and I’m awfully glad! 18 Hands Gallery is a destination for ceramic fine art, with both a collection of work by local clay artists and rotating exhibits in ceramics and other disciplines. The gallery is on 19th Street in the glorious, historic Heights in Houston.
On September 10-26, 18 Hands is hosting Focus on Fiber, the annual juried exhibit by the Houston Area Fiber Artists. There will be an “opening” reception halfway through, on Saturday, September 18. I’ve got a set of silk thread jewelry in there, among all the other wonderful fiber goodies created by members of HAFA.
On October 2-31, 18 Hands will be hosting its own juried exhibit of fiber art, Interwoven II, in conjunction with The International Quilt Show in Houston. The opening night will actually be on the opening night, October 2. And I’ve got another set of silk thread jewelry in this exhibit, as well as one of my doilies in a shadowbox! This is just so exciting!
