McCord Works jewelry is now being carried in the gift shop of the Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in Fort Worth, Texas! This is in conjunction with the exhibit Off the Wall: Maverick Quilts. I am just tickled to be involved with this wonderful museum. We’re looking at the calendar to schedule an in-house event, too!
Free shipping in my Etsy shop through the end of 2012!* Click on the box in the upper right corner and check it out! I have more items in stock than are currently listed, so if you are looking for something specific and don’t see it, contact me. I just might have it on hand anyway.
*Unless you’re outside the U.S., but we can work something out!
Did you get the last newsletter about November and December dates? You can see it here.
Next event: Houston Holiday Pop Shop! It’s the indie craft fair, art and music festival right here in town. Here’s a great way to spend Black Friday and get a start on your holiday shopping. Buy local, buy handmade – it helps all of us!
The Summer Street Studios are just south of I-10 at Taylor. David Adickes’s studio is there, so come visit all the giant heads of Presidents!
I just listed a number of new items in the Etsy shop, including a pair of long, dangly, rainbow chakra earrings. It’s possible this will be the only pair ever. Certainly the only pair for a long time, until I dye all these colors again!
I spent Memorial Day weekend in Kerrville once again, at the Texas State Arts & Crafts Fair. It was my second year, and a real winner of a weekend. Seriously. I won second place in the Fiber Art category!
The staff and volunteers are wonderful, and it really does feel almost like a family reunion. All the artists were trading stories as we waited for the barbecue truck to arrive. The weather was perfect, and so were my Kerrville hosts. I had a great time, and I’ll be back next year!
For the past couple of years, my jewelry has been available in Austin, TX at Haven Gallery, a beautiful art/craft gallery downtown. The owner is moving the gallery to Estes Park, CO. Once she gets settled in to the new location, I’ll be represented in two states! In the meantime, the best place to keep track of progress is on Haven Gallery’s Facebook page.
The Dallas Quilt Celebration is the largest volunteer-driven quilt show in the nation. The theme this year is “In Full Bloom”. Come to Dallas Market Hall and see almost 400 spectacular quilts, and over 150 vendors, including yours truly!
Art on the Greene is a free three-day Arts Festival located between The Ballpark in Arlington and Cowboys Stadium. Art On The Greene will feature the finest artists and prominent local live entertainment. And a beer tent!
Just added to the calendar! I will be participating in the 2012 Dallas Quilt Celebration on March 9-11. I’m pleased as punch to be at another quilt festival!
